Aims of the FIDIS International Summer School
The aim of the IFIP summer school was to introduce participants to the social implications of Information Technology through the process of informed discussion. Following the holistic approach advocated by the IFIP working groups involved, a diverse group of participants ranging from young doctoral students to leading researchers in the field were encouraged to engage in discussion, dialogue and debate in an informal and supportive setting. The interdisciplinary and international emphasis of the Summer School allowed for a broader understanding of the issues in the technical and social spheres.
The FIDIS Summer School event is detailed in the following sections. Note that material including abstracts, papers, presentations and tutorials is available on the official site, and is linked from the internal FIDIS portal.
