Masarykova univerzita v Brne, Fakulta informatiky

Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University Brno (MU) has carried out research projects in the areas of network security, privacy, biometrics, public-key infrastructures, applied and quantum cryptography. Research on hardware security is also carried out in a close cooperation with the Brno University of Technology. More refined research interests include:

  • Implementations of cryptography, utilising secure hardware, security evaluation of tamper-proof hardware devices (side-channel attacks).
  • Application of crypto primitives into digital systems (protocols - namely authentication protocols, HW protection…).
  • Privacy issues involving electronic communication and de-identification of healthcare data.
  • Integration of biometrics techniques with cryptographic mechanisms.
  • Evaluation of security properties of biometric systems.

We are also successfully integrating crypto community in the Czech and Slovak Republics through events organised by members of our group.
