INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration, located in Fontainebleau, is the largest European Business School. Its objective is to train present and future executives and managers operating in European businesses. It currently has more than 3000 European executives active on their courses plus many others in the process of completing an MBA.
CALT, INSEAD’s Centre for Advanced Learning Technologies, is one of the leading research centres in the field of new learning technologies in management education (and in particular aspects such as management practices or organization dynamic). CALT has built an innovative body of insights and tools in the domains of Management Education (Learning Simulations, new Learning Platforms), Knowledge Management (in particular the dynamic of knowledge exchange in virtual communities).
Important foci of the research of CALT include:
- virtual community, learning networks, behavioural transformation. from both a technical and social perspective. Examples of project: Knowlaboration (inter-organisational learning network), EdComNet (educational communal net, a virtual learning community platform for adult citizens), KInCA (Agents for helping in the adoption of knowldege-sharing practices).
- user modelling (for knowledge management and for learning). The objective is to model the different aspects of the user in order to deliver him more personalized interaction. Example of project: Ontologging (next generation Ontology-based Knowledge Management Platform), LIP (the next generation E-Learning Plateform, able to take into account the Context).
